*disclaimer* I do not own any character in this story. They are all copyrighted of Square Enix
No more rape scenes, I promise. Originally I really wanted this to be about Cloud so it becomes more about him. I still love Sora, Riku and Kairi and am patiently awaiting KH3.
Chapter 2: Cloud's Continued Journey - Midgar
He had drunk up all three bottles of shochu in three days blindly
believing that alcohol would keep Sephiroth at bay. He, however was
wrong. Due to the amount of intake of alcohol that would normally cause
alcohol poisoning, he was able to withstand it, if only a little. He fell due to the poisoning and if he didn't
vomit first he would surely die but he would deserve that death
wouldn't he? That pain and agony. No. No he wouldn't. Sephiroth would
though. His lower abdomen throbbed in pain and threatened to burst if
something wasn't done soon. He crawled slowly to the land's edge to
drink from the black water. As if water would help him now.
Slowly
slowly he crawled inch by inch to the water's edge. Look at him. There
he was, lying on his stomach crawling like a sick dog. Well if that was
the case he might as well lay there and die. Finally without realizing it, he
had reached the lake. He placed his malnourished lips to the black,
murky water to take a sip. The throbbing pain worsened, it felt as if there were a
spiked ball slowly tearing, trying to break his flesh. Then his throat
went terribly dry, the pain in his abdomen reached its peak, he
clutched at his skin as he wobbled from side to side on his hands and
knees. His head was spinning, his vision dimmed as the whole world
was turning upside down, his vision suddenly became black.
Sora had awoke
in Merlin's bed in the borough, Cid, Yuffie, Merlin, Aerith and Leon
surrounded him. He stared blankly at his environment and pondered how he
got there. "Wow," Yuffie exclaimed.
"You're tough" Cid said brushing his
nose with his thumb and a grin.
"I'll make a potion for you!" Merlin exclaimed, scurrying over to his worktable.
"How do you feel," Aerith asked
gently, smiling warmly. Sora couldn't speak, couldn't move. His head was
aching. Most of his body covered in bandages despite how non fatal his wounds actually were. He just laid there
as Aerith gave him the potion to drink. The potion was a misty green and
tasted like green apple. Sora laid back down and went to sleep without saying a word.
Leon
stepped outside, he was confused. Why would Cloud and Sora fight, he
thought before shaking his head and forgetting about the matter. Sora
had to go home. After he got a little better. Leon wanted no problems. Especially with Cloud or Sephiroth.
"Vital
signs returning." The words were faint in Cloud's ears. Where am I? He
thought. I died didn't I? He was dead....for about a minute. After the
poison took its toll and his bitterly given life, Vincent Valentine, an
old comrade of Cloud's, appeared. Vincent was a frequent visitor to Ajito for the
solitude alone but today he would become companion to the ill. Vincent
calmly placed an acidic tablet in the blonde's mouth while pumping his
chest to get his heart to start again.
One quick blow to his chest
and his heart pumping. In another minute he was back on
hands and knees vomiting. Cloud opened his eyes, "Visento?" Vincent stayed silent. "Where am
I? How did you get here? Am I in Hell?"
"Oh fuck you." Vincent replied.
"Shigao shigao hontou ni," Cloud said drunkenly. Vincent stood against an old tree to simply watch his friend hurl a decent amount of stomach contents.
"This
is Ajito the Forgotten Capital. How you got here..... I don't know."
Cloud closed his eyes, it's so peaceful here he thought. So peaceful. He
soon fell asleep. When was the last time he slept peacefully? It had
been a long time, felt like ages. All that traveling and alcohol wore his body out. Vincent soon left. How long he slept no one
knew.
Sora had just woken up again, still in the borough only this
time only Leon was present. "Leon?"
"Sora-kun......you cannot stay
here. I'm sorry." Sora was partially sedated so his head was fuzzy and
blurred.
"Huh?"
"Sora," Leon stood up and looked away, trying to hide his concern.
However the worry was plastered to his face. Sora was confused, Squall
Leonhart was his friend how could he kick him out?
"Leon what is wrong?"
Leon crossed his arms against his chest, his eyes closed holding a
mental picture of his body being torn apart by a very hefty sword. Leon
shook his head, "Sora you're always welcomed here but I think you're well
enough to go home." Sora tried to sit up but his head
still ached a bit.
"Huh? Leon?" Sora tried to make sense of Leon's
nervousness but couldn't make heads or tails on his emotions. "Leon
what's wrong?"
Leon paced a bit, walking back and forth worrying about
his own skin then...he felt so ashamed of himself. "Sora...go home." And
that was the end of that.
Cloud awoke in his own room in his
own house. His head was clear and his body was healed but what about his
soul? Sephiroth? Cloud took in a deep breath that made him feel alive,
feel free. It was a good feeling that engulfed his entire body as if
some unknown strength had just been discovered then unleashed in a
bloody rage but with strong noble intentions. Like protecting the ones
most precious to him. He glanced around his bedroom. Nothing was
different.
He got up placing his bare feet upon the cold wood beneath
him which gave him a sense of familiarity, here, this house he had left,
the people - no, family he had abandoned for so long. Guilt and
sorrow washed over draining him of his new found strength causing a faint
feeling of pain to tear at his heart. What if they're not here? He thought.
How long would they wait for him? How long could he expect them to
wait? He slowly, cautiously, silently, made his way to Marlene and
Denzel's room, he gently pushed the door open.
Nothing. No one. The kids
weren't there and his heart sunk. Feeling a twinge of hopelessness he
traveled the cold stairs down into the bar 7th Heaven. He was slowly
fading back into darkness to hear anything till he reached the landing
and saw Tifa steadily cleaning a glass. His heart lifted. Tifa. She was
there. Was she there because she had waited for him or because she had
no where left to go? Finally feeling sad, lonely, blue eyes on her
Tifa turned. Her eyes rested on Cloud's slim body before her mind
registered the fact that Cloud was up. When her thoughts matched the
reality of the image before her she ran throwing her arms around his
neck, "Cloud you're awake!"
He stumbled back a bit surprised by the
impact she had while only hugging him. Her tears were warm against his
cold skin, it felt refreshing. "Tifa." he whispered. Her tears steadily
rolled down his neck. Hesitant Cloud wrapped his arms around her waist,
softly embracing her for the moment. "Tifa....how did I get here?" Tifa
stepped back from him, her brown eyes burned into his water
eyes as she warmly smiled a lover's smile.
"Vincent brought you. Cloud
how do you feel?"
"I feel fine." He pondered a minute. Did he really
feel okay? Sephiroth was still there hiding within the dark depths of the
shadow in his soul and his control was slow burning embers in his mind.
Hopefully this was all what was left of an ill-fated memory but Cloud found doubt rising from somewhere inside him.
Sora, now back home on Destiny Island felt
anxious about seeing his friends. About having to face Kairi and tell
her that he had failed in avenging her rape. Kairi stood on the beach
where, Riku, Sora and herself along with several other friends played as
younger children. She stood there every day since Sora left waiting for
his return. The memory of the rape was slowly fading from her mind as
Riku tried his best day after day to cheer her up. Her feelings were
mixed but it wasn't something she would grieve over for the rest of her
life, she was strong, and on the bright side, she thought, at least she
wasn't pregnant. Cloud looked pretty damn strong, she wouldn't hold it
against Sora if he could not avenge her. All the while all she wanted
was Sora back alive.
Chapter 2 END
I haven't read this in forever, I wrote in back in 2006, it sucks. *Sadness*
